SAVING LIVES BY TRAINING KIDS

Harper's Mission
A Non-Profit by Kids, for Kids
Harper’s Heart Heroes (HHH) is a student-led nonprofit organization that teaches elementary-school kids what to do when someone is in cardiac arrest or unresponsive. Kids learn to recognize a medical emergency, call 911, and initiate CPR.
There is an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest every second in the United States. Bystander CPR is started only 40% of the time. CPR can double a person’s chance of survival. Since kids are often at home with an adult (parents, grandparents, and caretakers), they can save many lives through our program.

News
June 2025
Harper’s Heart Heroes received a competitive grant from the Junior League.
We will use the grant funds to expand our outreach to schools through the Harper’s Heart Heroes CPR Kit. Teachers can use the kit to teach the program to their classes. The kits will be provided to multiple schools and can be reused for multiple classrooms. Each kit contains a CPR manikin, pulse oximeter, stethoscope, instructions, HHH activity sheets, and HHH stickers.
For the 3rd straight year, Harper’s Heart Heroes became Michigan State Champion in the Service Learning category of the Destination Imagination competition.
On April 5, 2025 our team acted a skit they wrote demonstrating how to save a life in a health emergency and displayed different elements of HHH programming. The judges were impressed with the creativity and impact of the outreach of our team.
